Arid Saline Wetlands

3 Days - $500

As required by Oregon’s laws, both the functions and values of wetlands must be assessed for many actions affecting wetlands in Oregon. Published in 2009, ORWAP is a relatively rapid method specific to Oregon that meets this need. It was developed and tested with extensive participation by the Department of State Lands, USEPA, Corps of Engineers, NRCS, and other agencies. This course will provide hands-on practice in applying ORWAP to multiple field sites. Results will be interpreted in terms of current policies of the agencies, as necessary to demonstrate functional uplift and mitigation sufficiency. This course is intended primarily for consultants who submit permit applications to Oregon’s DSL and the Corps of Engineers. Attendees must provide their own laptop computer with wireless connection capability.
