This course is designed for wetland delineators with at least a year of field experience who want a refresher on the fundamentals and deeper training in complex, real-world scenarios. Through approximately 10 hours of online lectures and readings, participants explore Chapter 5 of the COE Regional Supplements, focusing on procedures for “Difficult Wetland Situations.” Key topics include hydrology and landform interpretation, disturbed and problematic soils, hydric soil indicators, and conditions affecting wetland determinations. The course concludes with a two-day (16-hour) field session led by an experienced instructor, visiting multiple sites to apply techniques and discuss findings. Emphasizing disturbed or altered conditions common in populated or transportation-focused areas, this course equips professionals to improve accuracy and confidence in the field.
